The Poo Chronicles

So, Friday February 6, 2008, I was on my way out the door when Hayden approached me with a waddle. "Mommy, I am poopy." I knew it wasn't good when 1. he is waddling like a penguin 2. he told me that he is poopy. My mother-in-law was over, so she started guiding Hayden in the bathroom while I grabbed another diaper. I pick up a piece of lint and then another piece of "lint" and realized...not a piece of lint...poop! There was a trail of it. Ronnie cleaned that up while I got Hayden's pants off and cleaned him up. Just before the shower, Hayden told us he had to pee. So, I decided to offer him the potty, since I didn't grab a diaper due to the poop all over and he still needed to hop in the shower. So, I set Hayden on the potty and he resisted, as usual, and then I held him. I told him I am here and settled him down. Then he peed in the potty, so exciting!!!!!!! Everyone in the house celebrated! The look on Hayden's face made me cry. He was so proud. I hope I see that face more and more with everything he encounters in life!
Since then and especially since mid-week or so, Hayden is potty trained! It is amazing! Friday the 13th (whoo-oooh), we took him with us to a work dinner for Ronnie and Hayden told me that he had to go potty. He even went on a public toilet! Even at home prefers the big potty. I have to help him, but I am so relieved! 3 years and 1 month old and potty trained! For now anyway.....
We'll have to work on night time and nap at a later date, however, he has been dry after nap for the last three days! We'll keep our fingers crossed :)

The beginning of last week, I was trying to get Hayden to go potty before bed and he rejected. I continued and Wyatt ran into the bathroom. I began to yell to Wyatt not to play in the bathroom and Ronnie ran to attend. Wyatt wanted to go on the potty. Ronnie stripped him down and Wyatt went pee. I couldn't believe it! Actually, a couple days prior to that, Ronnie got Wyatt on the potty (by the way, Wyatt sits all the time and didn't go before recently) and Wyatt was shaking trying to push the pee out and managed a few drops. It was humorous to say the least. I am so proud of my boys and the more they grow the more I am in AHHH of them. If I can get a two for one deal in the potty training business, that would be AWESOME, but I am NOT counting my chicks before they hatch!
