Ronnie has family that lives up in the Fargo and Moorhead area. With the Red River flooding this year, some evacuated this weekend down to the cities. Most of the guys stayed to help. Thank goodness none of their homes will be effected, as to what I know now. It is inspirational to see a whole city come together and help their fellow neighbors in such an event. Even though there was much planning and preparation, there is going to be some relief in the future to rebuild. Thank God, Ronnie's family is safe.

A Portrait is Forever....
We just got back from JC Penny's from getting family portraits done! What a nightmare! All morning Hayden has been in prime mood, prime!!! We decided to grab some yummy brunch at Granite City, so the kids wouldn't be starving. The kids did fine at the restaurant, but still pushed buttons. It is stressful enough just trying to coordinate, dress and plan for 3 other adults while I mange to get myself looking like I didn't just run a marathon. Then we arrive at our appointment to check in 20 minutes early, then we could sit down and get the boys changed and hair brushed. But to add to the chaos...we forget it was daylight saving time, so we missed our appointment. Thanks goodness they has an opening in about a 1/2 hour. Ronnie goes to use the phone and Wyatt starts taking off. Hayden informs me that he has to go to the bathroom. Ronnie comes back and takes Hayden to the bathroom.Our names are called to go back the minute Ronnie and Hayden are out of sight.
Family portraits go very well, but after the 4th one Wyatt starts pointing at everything. The rest of the session goes accordingly....Hayden loves the camera, but seems to have the most anticipated possessed smile. Wyatt wants to be in Hayden's individual pictures, Wyatt wants to climb and play with toys rather then taking his own pictures, but I manage to get a few face pictures behind a soccer ball. Wyatt and Hayden didn't want to stay still to get a loving brotherly picture. Ronnie is sitting in the doorway laughing at the circus occurring in the room and I am trying my best to interest my children to focus just for one second, so I can capture a moment in time. This is why it has been almost a year since we have done this. Afterwards we all took a walk, so the kids could blow off some energy. The kids were all over the place. Thanks goodness the boys stayed in one place while I picked out the pictures. The photographer says, "what a good looking family." I wonder.....Is this all worth it?
Yeah of course. When I have those pictures on the wall, it doesn't remind me of a day of craziness. It reminds me of the time when they are little and growing. I will look back and always remember how blessed I was to have them in my lives and will forget days like this when it is hard to perform the littlest task. The pictures on the wall will remind me that time goes by fast and shows how far we have come as a family. Everyday can be a challenge, but doing it together is what reminds us of what is important. Family. Said in just portrait.

The Long Lived Life of a Woman
My Couisn AJ posted this on her blog and I found it very inspiring and a condensed version of "how to" 's about life.

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio December 8th, 2008. To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've everwritten. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here goes:
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what theirjourney is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry;God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the secondone is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't takeno for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie,drink the expensive wine/beer/brandy/whiskey.> Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In fiveyears, will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends> and parents will. Stay in touch.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative - dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
