The Family 10/31/08The funny thing is that Hayden was actually a "fire truck man" but I haven't taken pictures of him in his costume (what a bad mom I am). But I did manage to take pictures in all our other costumes ha-ha. I may add pictures later. Enjoy!

17 months
Is isn't a monumental age for most but for us it is special. Wyatt turns 17 months November 8. It is amazing to see him full on just getting on top and into everything. All of his words are incredible, but he is so little still and getting so big at the same time.
Hayden was 17 months when Wyatt was born. He was at the same point Wyatt is now. I just can't believe we have done it with two boys so close together in age. We had a Wyatt and a newborn at this age?! It puzzles me. It has been challenging, I am not going to lie. But we are doing it and honestly, we don't know anything different.
Ronnie and I were only -really- starting out as parents when Wyatt was born and we were adding another baby into the equation. We were very nervous, but excited. All three of our lives changed when Wyatt was born. Looking back, it was good for Hayden because it made him more independent and not as clingy as most kids are at this age AKA Wyatt.
It is VERY special when the first is born, because your life makes the ultimate change. Your propective on life and the world. Even what is more important to you. Something has to be said the feeling you have with the second child coming into your lives. I never thought I could have this much love for another human being and I am even more excited that this feeling will only continue with each child we have. Ronnie and I came together to create our world, our lives, our family. Our dreams are coming true...

Obama is Our President Elect....
First of all, I don't love talking politics, but something has to be said with this historic election. Barack Obama won with 349 electoral votes and 62,974,970 popular votes leaving John McCain with 161 electoral votes and 55,772,391. I was not on Obama's side what so ever during the election, but he is this country's next president. It is a hard job and he deserves respect.
I would expected the same from Obama supporters if McCain would have won. Mr. Obama has a lot of proving to do. This country depends on it.
Yesterday, I went to vote. I brought Hayden with me. He was so good and he asked questions. He talked about voting with mommy for the rest of the night. It was a special moment.

Halloween
We had such a great Halloween! Hayden made a great recovery from being sick that very early morning, but we still kept a low-key day just hanging around the house.
Evening came and my parents, aunts, and my brother's family came over to celebrate the evening of ghouls. I fed the boys some sandwiches, but they both were much too excited. We got costumes on...Wyatt was an elephant and Hayden was a "fire truck man." Ronnie, me and my aunts Kathy and Cindy took the boys over next door to Ronnie's parents' house. They always have had decorations up as long I have known them and Hayden and Wyatt loved it. They were walking by the censored head stone that talked or the woman statue that cackled when you pushed her button. I love seeing my boys light up with excitement.
Then we went house to house trick or treating. They both were prepped by greeting with "trick or treat" and then saying "thank you" when you get candy. Every house we went to Hayden would tell me that he got more candy. He was amazed and having a great time. Wyatt liked following Hayden to the houses, but his legs are so little Hayden would be leaving the house by the time Wyatt made it there. Half way between houses, Wyatt would say "thank you." Late, but very cute.
I love my neighborhood. I love that there are so many kids that go around and that the houses are decorated so well. Hayden and Wyatt would get really excited to see such decorations. We probably made it about 3 or 4 blocks when Hayden said he had enough candy. So funny. We hiked the couple blocks back home to see my parents and Bart, Tina and Maddy. Maddy, my niece was a ladybug. So very cute and happy. It was her first Halloween!
The boys were allowed 2 or 3 pieces of candy, but having a sucker slowed then down to only 1-2 pieces. We made some apple pie and pumpkin cookies for everyone. It was a really fun Halloween...
My only complaint is the manners on kids trick or treating! I would get kids at my door that would just stand there when they came to the door instead of "trick or treat." I am talking about school aged children that know. I had one kid, as I was putting candy in his bag, "can I get a Reese's?" with much attitude. I replied with a "no." I am a little biased, b/c it was the same group of kids that knocked Hayden down at another house. What is even worse, the parents were there and didn't do anything. Parents...disipline your children! Don't let things like that just fly! There, I am done with that.
